SAGINAW, Mich., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- MiCTA, a national non-profit technology consortium, has selected Blackboard Inc. as an endorsed Learning Management System (LMS) vendor. "We are pleased to welcome Blackboard back as a national endorsed LMS vendor for our membership," says Tim Von Hoff, Chief Operating Officer of MiCTA. "Our membership appreciates the value and service they receive from Blackboard and we are looking forward to our renewed partnership with one of the world's foremost LMS providers"
"We've seen growing interest from our members in content management systems that incorporate the latest communications and collaboration technologies," says Von Hoff. Following a competitive bid process conducted jointly with the Maryland Department of Education, MiCTA chose Blackboard to provide LMS solutions that deliver these technologies as part of a comprehensive learning experience.
MiCTA's competitive bidding process is rigorous, and enables the organization to evaluate technology-oriented and telecommunications solutions on behalf of its nationwide membership. When the competitive bidding process is finished, MiCTA members may select highly qualified vendors for telecommunications and technology-oriented products and services without incurring additional expense to conduct their own competitive bidding process. MiCTA can also negotiate volume discounts with its vendors that individual purchasers would not otherwise be eligible for.
"The Learning Management Systems Evaluation Committee worked hard to articulate the LMS needs of our membership," says Von Hoff. "Blackboard's proposal delivered an excellent combination of service and value for our membership and we are pleased to offer Blackboard our highest endorsement for its LMS products and services."
