Wesabe Delivers Community Application for Addison Avenue Federal Credit Union Members

Posted on: Tuesday, 8 September 2009, 09:54 CDT

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Wesabe and Addison Avenue Federal Credit Union today announced the Addison Avenue Groups community application. Addison Avenue Groups is a customized version of the Wesabe Springboard((TM)) Community Application that allows the credit union's more than 150,000 members to help each other with personal financial insights in a robust online community.

Wesabe helps financial institutions enhance member relations, increase retention, and attract a new generation of web-savvy customers. Just eight weeks after announcing the partnership with Addison Avenue, Wesabe delivered the completed Addison Avenue Groups community platform. The platform allows members to share advice and engage in discussions on a vast array of topics from paying off credit card debt to budgeting for a wedding to inheritance tax questions.

"Credit unions are about people helping people and that means more than just making a deposit at your local branch," said Stu Fisher, senior vice president of eCommerce at Addison Avenue Federal Credit Union. "After discovering the richness of personal finance wisdom in Wesabe's online community, we knew it was essential to provide this experience to our membership."

"Empowering members to become financially successful is a goal that Wesabe and Addison Avenue share," said Marc Hedlund, CEO of Wesabe. "In the current economic climate, it's important to have someone to turn to for advice. Leveraging the Addison and Wesabe communities, members will have access to thousands of smart advisors to help them reach their financial objectives."

Part of Wesabe's award-winning personal financial management website, Wesabe Springboard gives consumers a "smart" dashboard view of their account data and personal finances - guiding them towards value, savings and goal completion, and away from poor financial decisions. In addition, Wesabe Springboard includes community features that let consumers help each other by anonymously sharing advice, support and tips for getting the most value for their money. Drawing on Wesabe's database of consumer spending behavior, Wesabe Springboard also allows users to benefit from the learning that comes from changes and patterns in how members shop.

Credit unions and banks can implement Wesabe Springboard through either a web services architecture or as a fully hosted web personal financial management (PFM) solution. Wesabe Springboard works with a wide variety of enterprise platforms, including .Net and Java. The web services option uses API-based integration to integrate into the financial institution's existing online banking system.

Wesabe launched Wesabe Springboard in March 2009. For additional information on Wesabe Springboard, visit https://www.wesabe.com/springboard or send an email to springboard@wesabe.com.
