Meraki Announces Cash for Wireless LAN Clunkers Trade-In Program
Posted on: Wednesday, 9 September 2009, 08:00 CDT
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Meraki, the cloud-based wireless networking company, launched its Cash for Wireless LAN Clunkers promotion to assist organizations with aging 802.11b/g networks who want to upgrade to a Meraki 802.11n wireless LAN. The special promotion includes a $150 credit for each access point traded in for a Meraki network. To qualify for Cash for Wireless LAN Clunkers, customers must register with Meraki and make their purchase by September 30, 2009.
"We understand that today's economy makes it challenging for organizations that want to upgrade their IT infrastructures," said Ivan Montoya, Vice President of Marketing at Meraki. "So we want to make it easier for them to trade-up from an aging 802.11b/g wireless network to a Meraki 802.11n wireless LAN, the new standard."
Meraki's cloud-based technology, the Meraki Cloud Controller, equips IT teams with wireless networks that are easier to setup and maintain for less than half the cost of other networking manufacturers. Setting up a Meraki wireless network is as easy as plugging in the access points and watching them self-configure over the Internet. Customers also receive the latest premium wireless features, such as automatic RF planning, quality-of-service (QoS) for voice and video, security with 802.1x authentication, and the ability to create multiple virtual-LANs on a single physical network. Managing a Meraki wireless LAN can be performed by an IT professional with any level of expertise thanks to the Cloud Controller's intuitive, Web-based management tools. Meraki also features an industry first: the ability to manage multiple geographically distributed networks from a central location.
"Many customers have already upgraded from vendors like Aruba and Motorola to Meraki 802.11n wireless LAN systems," continued Montoya. "Now with Cash for Wireless LAN Clunkers it's even easier to deploy an 802.11n network and conserve more of the precious IT budget. For a twenty access point network, that's $3,000 cash back for gear they may have just thrown away. We think that's meaningful, especially in today's economic climate."
