DULUTH, Ga., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- ChildCare Education Institute (CCEI) is a distance training institution committed to developing relevant and up-to date online coursework that meets the training needs of the child care industry.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), children less than 5 years of age are at risk of complications from influenza, with the greatest risk among children less than 2 years of age. The CDC recommends that early childhood providers scrutinize and amend pandemic plans and procedures to help decrease the spread of influenza among children.

HLTH101: Preparing for an Influenza Pandemic provides an overview of how to prepare for an influenza pandemic. Students will learn the definition of pandemic, identify the planning and coordination required to prepare for a pandemic, identify infection control actions and learn the values of communication during a pandemic.
"CCEI continues to introduce professional development courses that are relevant to the current needs of early childcare professionals. HLTH101 provides educators with valuable information on the current H1N1 flu threat and how to develop procedures for dealing with an Influenza Pandemic," said Maria Taylor, President and CEO. This and other CCEI professional development courses are accessible online individually or with an annual subscription starting at only $99. Completed courses are awarded IACET CEUs and may articulate to college credit, adding even more value for students.
