FedEx Express Senior Vice President of Air Operations Donald O. Barber to Retire; James R. Parker to Succeed Barber

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), today announced that Donald O. Barber, 55, senior vice president of air operations will retire effective July 31, 2005. Barber has led the company's air operations since 1998. FedEx Express Vice President, James R. Parker, 53, will succeed Barber.

"Don has brought tremendous leadership and made significant contributions to the FedEx Express Air Operations Division since joining the company in 1976," said Frederick W. Smith, chairman, president and chief executive officer of FedEx. "He has been instrumental in the development of one of the largest airlines in the world with more than 650 aircraft."

Barber joined FedEx as an aircraft mechanic in 1976 and was named managing director of engineering in 1982, managing director - Los Angeles airframe maintenance in 1989, vice president base maintenance in 1990, vice president aircraft maintenance in 1992 and vice president of engineering & quality assurance.

Parker joined FedEx in 1978 and is currently vice president - aircraft acquisitions and supplemental air operations of FedEx Express, where he is responsible for evaluating air fleet requirements, overseeing aircraft acquisitions and dispositions, and feeder aircraft operations. Prior to his current position, Parker served in several management capacities in the FedEx Express Finance department, including eight years as managing director finance for air operations.

Parker holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Memphis.
