US-based Versa Technology invests in networking equipment plant
HANGZHOU, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- US leading broadband technology maker Versa Technology has invested 30 million US dollars to build a plant in Shaoxing City, east China's Zhejiang Province, according to project officials.
Versa Technology (Shaoxing) Co. Ltd is jointly funded by Versa Technology, Inc. and an Asia-targeted information infrastructure investment fund of Softbank of Japan.
The plant will be located in the Shaoxing Paojiang Industrial Zone and the first phase of construction is expected to be completed and go into operation next July, according to the project officials.
Versa Technology, a fiber optics communication company, was founded in 1994. It aims to develop, produce and market industry- leading products, like network media converters, network MDUs ( multiple dwelling units), phoneline networks, switches and routers and fiber optic multiplexers.
