New Enterprise Forum Panel Meets at SPARK to Shed Light on Venture Details: Valuation and What Counts
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — New Enterprise Forum and Ann Arbor SPARK will co-host a panel discussion on the specifics for venture deals, with a focus on valuation. This discussion should help entrepreneurs to understand the realities of valuation and how it affects investment in their business. The event takes place at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, at SPARK Central, 330 E. Liberty Street in Ann Arbor.
The participants for this event include:
Timothy Damschroder – Partner, Bodman Law Firm. Tim advises clients in business and corporate finance, securities, tax, and intellectual property law. He specializes in high-tech companies from start-up to transactions involving IP, venture capital financing, and eventual sale or IPO. He holds a J.D. from the University of Detroit School of Law and an A.B. from U-M.
Chris Rizik – CEO, Renaissance Venture Capital Fund. Chris is also a co-founder of Ardesta LLC, the nation’s first accelerator for the nanotechnology and microtechnology field. Chris successfully led negotiations and closings of more than twenty venture capital transactions for Ardesta. Prior to Ardesta, he was a managing director for Avalon Technology, LLC, where he secured more than 30 venture capital transactions in a three-year period.
Eric Sieczka – Co-Founder and President & CEO, Pixel Velocity, Inc. Eric has spent the past 15 years commercializing technologies and building Michigan-based enterprises, with experience in technology creation, product development, operations, and financing. Previously, he was with EOTech Inc, a leading provider of holographic weapon sights, where he built the firm from a start-up product concept into a fully integrated manufacturing facility. He holds eight patents, a BSEE degree from Kettering Institute, and an MBA from U-M.
Our moderator will be Skip Simms, a Director at Ann Arbor SPARK, who manages SPARK’s Business Accelerator program for early stage technology companies, which helps prepare them for equity fund raising. Skip raised and now manages the Michigan Pre-Seed Capital Fund.
