CHICAGO, Oct. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Cision, the leading provider of media research, distribution, monitoring and analysis services to the public relations industry and other communicators, today announced that Purdue University has chosen CisionPoint as its on-demand PR services software platform.
Purdue is one of the largest universities in the country, with more than 39,000 students on its main campus in West Lafayette, Indiana.
"We chose CisionPoint because it offers a complete package: media database, monitoring, and in-depth reports prepared by their team of media analysts," said Jeanne Norberg, Purdue's Director of Public Information. "Their daily broadcast monitoring reports include actual video clips, and use metrics such as Nielsen NetRatings to measure the value of broadcast and Internet coverage. CisionPoint also provides social media monitoring and metrics, distribution, and search engine optimization."
Purdue will also use CisionPoint's Premium Industry Media Profiles for the Education and Health & Science industries. Cision's premium media research provides detailed intelligence about influential journalists, freelancers and bloggers in print, broadcast and online/social media, as well as key industry analysts, across seven vertical market segments. In addition to Education and Health & Science, they include Business & Finance, Consumer Products, Energy & Environment, Technology, and Travel & Tourism.
Cision works with the United States' most prominent academic institutions. In addition to Purdue, its clients include the ten largest (by enrollment) public universities, 12 of the 15 largest private colleges and universities, over 60 percent of the Ivy League schools, and 26 of the country's top 30 business schools (as ranked by BusinessWeek).
