Huating Lake lies in Taihu County, Anqing City, Anhui Province. Known as
the hometown of Huangmei Opera, Taihu County is also the place where Zen
Buddhism originated. It is said to be the site that Huike, one of the earliest
patriarchs of Chinese Zen buddhism, studied and practiced Zen Buddhism. It is
also the hometown of China's deceased top Buddhist leader Zhao Puchu, who was
noted not only as a patriotic religious leader and social activist, but as a
famous writer, poet and calligrapher as well. He also served as Vice Chairman
of the Ninth National Committee of the CPPCC, Honorary Chairman of the Central
Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, President of the
Chinese Buddhist Academy, and President of the Buddhist Association of China.
The lake, situated at the southern foothills of Dabie Mountain, is dotted with
many small islands and has deep waters. Covering an area of 198 square

Many online activities, such as photography and writing contests, will also be
organized to add more vigor and vitality to the event.

says that they will advertise the event on a series of well-known websites in
Europe and America, as well as on the world's largest LED screen in New York's
Times Square, to attract more international participants and make this event a
truly global one.
In particular, Huway.com calls upon fans of the outdoors to take their
unwanted books or stationery for donation to the poor kids in local Hope
Schools. This special activity entitled "Carry One More Kilogram" is designed
to pass the love of these enthusiasts and knowledge on to the kids, provide
the tourists with a richer experience and make their trips more meaningful.
