ATLANTA, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ — InternetSafety.com announced today that its Safe Eyes family filtering software has earned a recommendation from the National Coalition for the Protection of Children & Families (NCPCF), an organization that focuses on safeguarding children and preserving marriages by counteracting the sexualized messages in today’s culture. NCPCF is promoting Safe Eyes to its constituency through a variety of channels, including its website at http://nationalcoalition.org.

The National Coalition evaluated multiple software packages to determine the best tools on the market to prevent exposure to pornography and other objectionable Internet content. Safe Eyes emerged as a top choice because of its comprehensive feature set, multiple awards, and ability to control Internet access on multiple devices ranging from PCs and Macs to the Apple iPhone.

Safe Eyes’ advanced Internet filtering capability supports the National Coalition’s core campaign against harmful sexual material. The software also complements NCPCF’s iCare prayer movement designed to rally women to take action against negative influences on the nation’s youth, and Married4Ever, an initiative to train pastors and lay leaders to help build stronger marriages through strategies such as premarital mentoring and programs for blended families.

“Our mission is to help Christians live sexually pure lives. In today’s society, you can’t do that without taking steps to block inadvertent or deliberate access to sexual content on the Internet,” said Rick Schatz, president and CEO of NCPCF. “Safe Eyes offers a strong toolset to shield children from sexually oriented websites as well as to help adults resist the temptations of pornography.”

The Safe Eyes platform automatically blocks objectionable websites in a choice of 35 categories – including pornography, sex and nudity – as well as by user-specified URLs and/or keywords. It also provides a comprehensive suite of other Internet control options for parents, including instant messaging controls, time limits, email blocking and social network monitoring.

In addition, the software enables ‘accountability partners’ such as a spouse, friend, pastor or mentor to block Internet access altogether at specific times such as the highly vulnerable after-midnight hours, check online usage logs of the user’s web activity, and receive alerts by phone, text, or email when users attempt to bypass the filter.

Safe Eyes costs $49.95 for an annual subscription covering up to three Mac and/or PC computers at www.internetsafety.com. Safe Eyes Mobile, the first filtering-enabled Internet browser for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch, costs $19.99 at the iPhone App Store.
