HOUSTON, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ — As thoughts begin to turn to the holidays and the end of the year, ThinAir Wireless has partnered with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) to help make sure child safety remains a priority for families year round. ThinAir Wireless has pledged to donate 5 percent of the proceeds from the sale of its P.O.M. Offender Locator iPhone Application (Version 2.2) to support NCMEC.

Research indicates that more than 2,000 children may be reported missing in a single day and 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 10 boys will be sexually victimized before adulthood.

“We know our children today face a number of risks, but there has also been remarkable progress in the world of child safety,” said Ernie Allen, NCMEC president and CEO. “There are more resources and information to help keep children safer then ever before and making sure families across the country have access to these resources is a critical part of our mission. Support from partners like ThinAir Wireless help make that possible.”

ThinAir Wireless, an established telematics leader, created the P.O.M. (Peace of Mind) Offender Locator iPhone Application to allow parents to make better decisions regarding their children’s safety, by quickly viewing registered sex offenders that are living nearby work or school. The application can be purchased through a wireless device or online at the iTunes App Store.

“Like the National Center, we believe that prevention is key to child safety efforts and we’re very pleased to support their mission,” said Trip Wakefield, CEO of ThinAir Wireless. “Together, we hope to accomplish great things.”
