Gideon Technologies Continues Strong Momentum in Third Quarter of 2009
ATLANTA and WASHINGTON, Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ – Gideon Technologies, the leading provider of standards-based information security solutions that automate and orchestrate enterprise IT security and risk management, announces that the company has continually experienced strong momentum through the third quarter of 2009 with significant new customers and partnerships, high customer retention, and robust profitability. The company boasts major client acquisitions in both the commercial and government markets, along with partnerships with industry leaders, and continued growth in revenues year over year.
Multiple federal government agencies from Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS), NASA, and Department of Defense (DoD) selected Gideon’s SecureFusion software suite for information security management and compliance reporting. These agencies are taking advantage of the recent GSA SmartBUY (SAIR) Situational Awareness and Incident Response (SAIR) Tier 1 solutions award. Also signed were deals with numerous commercial customers, with a key emphasis on healthcare, transportation, and finance markets.
“Gideon Technologies has achieved significant momentum this quarter by adding these prestigious organizations to our client roster, cementing our leadership position within the information security marketplace,” said Ken Halley, CEO and co-founder, Gideon Technologies. “The SecureFusion software suite provides a proven methodology for visualizing, prioritizing, and measuring enterprise IT risks, PCI compliance, FISMA & 800-53R3 IA control monitoring, and IAVA vulnerability management compliance, enabling these businesses to protect their IT assets and networks from the ever-growing number of malevolent cyber threats.”
Most recently, Gideon was awarded the OVAL Repository Top Contributor Award for the 3rd quarter of 2009. This is the third consecutive quarter that Gideon has been named a Top Contributor for making significant contributions of new or modified content to the OVAL Repository. OVAL is an international, information security, community standard sponsored by the National Cyber Security Division of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Gideon was also named to CRN/ChannelWeb’s Emerging Vendor List of 140 companies that are gaining market share, growing steadily, and successfully taking business away from competitors.
During the quarter, Gideon strengthened its market position through partnerships with industry leaders ArcSight and BMC. Integration of the SecureFusion software suite with ArcSight’s SIEM platform and BMC’s Business Service Management solutions adds value and capabilities, such as improved interoperability of security-related information from different security and network devices and applications.
Also significant is the expansion of Gideon’s operations with the opening of an office in the Washington, DC area to target the federal government. “Our local presence in the DC area enables Gideon to further execute on its strategy to deepen its relationships with federal agencies, drive innovation, and help defend against cyber warfare on government systems,” added Ken Halley.
