eSafe Makes International Debut As Debit Transaction Provider for Gaming Management Corporation's Racetrack and Sports Event Wager Network

Posted on: Monday, 18 July 2005, 09:04 CDT

LOS ANGELES, July 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- eSafe Cards, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of UC Hub Group, Incorporated (BULLETIN BOARD: UCHB) , has contracted to be the sole provider of a local closed loop debit payment service for Bet Peru, a division of Gaming Management Corporation (GMC). GMC has developed a turnkey point-of-sale wagering platform designed to support an international network of off-track and sports book betting rooms and ticketing locations. These establishments are slated to serve as countrywide networks specifically geared to serve legal and local enthusiasts in the Latin American regions who wager on international sporting events.

With its first betting site in Lima, Peru operational and experiencing rapid growth, Bet Peru is preparing to roll out additional betting locations in Peru and Brazil with future coverage expected to encompass hundreds of sites in South and Central America, plus additional initiatives planned for Eastern Europe. eSafe has been contracted to provide the sole digital payment and payout alternative to cash used at Bet Peru betting windows and ticket counters.

Bet Peru's expansion goals are supported by GMC's impressive roster of partner companies. Magna Entertainment is North America's premier owner and operator of horse racetracks and a leader in simulcasting of live racing content. Equibase provides full handicapping data flow. Cutting edge streaming internet technologies by Charlson Broadcast Technologies supports broadcasts to any location on a cost effective basis. Integration with established Vegas sports book lines support betting on all U.S. major league sports events plus all European games including soccer, auto racing, tennis and other major international competitions.

eSafe's debit technology solution provides indigenous users in various countries access to a closed loop banking network which facilitates virtual cash payments, transfers, billing and collections. By providing a card that runs on a closed loop network for the gaming industry, eSafe has established a dedicated banking channel for a specific market vertical that obeys transnational gaming and banking regulations in different countries. In addition to cash exchange capabilities at Bet Peru locations, this closed loop system then extends to a 900+ location banking and ATM network in the countries served.

Whereas U.S. banks operate as open loop networks, many foreign national banking markets do not. Currency exchange is dependent on regional banking agreements, particularly in the area of digital cash transactions. eSafe's infrastructure buildout and partnership network has quickly hurdled these often difficult market entry barriers with a growing set of bank relationships, now including the Bank of Peru.

eSafe continues to work tirelessly to create a fully reciprocal domestic and international network encompassing banks, loading and transaction stations and currency exchange. eSafe's goal is to tap its unlimited market potential and become the leading virtual banking system and a major digital data and product distributor in Latin American and leverage this as a virtual commerce corridor to the greater Hispanic population of North America. Critical to eSafe's growth and longevity will be product differentiation which presently includes plans to become a full fledged internet based epayment system with secure mobile wireless capabilities.

Bet Peru's sports book facilities will serve as distribution points for closed loop cash cards and ancillary products. eSafe will also sell Bet Peru debit cards for resale to their customers. A minimum eSafe card purchase rate by Bet Peru is included during the life of the initial three year contract with goals to distribute thousands of cards to an active user base within the first year of operations. eSafe will derive its recurring income from user transaction fees.

Expectations are some Bet Peru customers will enact multiple transactions per hour when actively wagering using eSafe solutions as the medium of payment and collections. eSafe's patented loyalty rebate private labeled program will be promoted to generate greater usage and customer retention. Long term goals are to establish 25,000-50,000 active high volume eSafe users within the Bet Peru network with projections on card distribution and usage contingent on Bet Peru achieving growth targets.

UC Hub's CEO, Larry Wilcox, comments, "While virtual gaming explodes worldwide, there will actually be a growing need for local lottery-style wager ticketing stations and public betting rooms that employ the best of closed loop virtual technologies as GMC and their consortium of partners are so uniquely qualified to provide through us. This is particularly the case in the international regions targeted by GMC. These venues with their desirable high transactional volume customer base represent a perfect gateway for the eSafe card and its strategic partners and is a foundational cornerstone for an eSafe international network. Bet Peru is a perfect example of our strategy of serving each country's needs for digital data and content distribution both on a nationwide basis and within localized closed loop systems."

Mr. Wilcox continues, "The larger opportunities for transnational digital cash transfers remain enormous. We are building a true digital highway that will serve the needs of a large and growing grass roots constituency, the very customer overlooked by larger corporations, but one of the growing forces behind digital currency exchange. A solid infrastructure and market reach will lead to innumerable other digital delivery opportunities as we further differentiate ourselves and expand our product mix. The task now is proper positioning while the open and closed loop debit card markets present such huge growth opportunities worldwide."
