T2 Communications Selects Cable System Services to Deploy IP Headend Technology and Services to Holland-Area Communities

HOLLAND, MI, July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- With a solution that will give local residents more choice and improved quality of service, T2 Communications has selected Cable System Services (CSS) to deploy and integrate an IP headend solution.
"CSS solution allows us to provide our subscribers in the Holland area a higher level of technical capability, customer service and pricing in an area where until now, competition has been extremely limited," says T2 Communications' president Ned Timmer. "The latest headend from TUT Systems and Simulsat technology provides the next generation of IP digital television service that will offer future-proof voice, video, and data integration."
IP headends are deployed to eliminate bandwidth congestion, a major reason why cable and telecommunication companies need to periodically rebuild or upgrade their wired infrastructure. Combined with the ease of provisioning and a virtual elimination of truck rolls due to plant-generated video quality issues, an IP solution for video distribution pays for itself through increased customer satisfaction.
A part of the overall engineering solution was Simulsat technology. "Instead of purchasing and maintaining multiple satellite earthstations, CSS's plan was engineered to deploy just one Simulsat antenna that allows us to provide more than 200 unique channels to our subscribers," adds Timmer. "This technology gives us the opportunity to deliver better quality of service with smoother, more reliable engineering, ordering and provisioning of video services."
"T2 Communications chose to partner with us because of our deep understanding of the digital headend and Simulsat arena and our experience, flexibility and can-do attitude," says CSS's president Rick Anderson. "We delivered a turn-key video solution in a timely manner that met their unique needs and requirements to offer video services within budget and with a stated deadline for its anchor customers."
"We were very impressed with the engineering plan put forward by CSS," adds Timmer. "What they have deployed is truly a next-generation offering that will allow our customers to enjoy better and less expensive communication options today and in the future."
