July 18, 2005
ROME – Italian state carrier Alitalia canceled 59 flights Monday due to a daylong strike by flight attendants.
The airline said 33 of the canceled flights were international and 26 domestic.
It is the latest of a string of similar strikes called by labor union Sult, which is negotiating the details of contracts signed several months ago.
