Remark Office OMR(R) Version 6.0 Provides Simple, Fast Alternative to Manual Data Entry

MALVERN, Pa., July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The revolution in data entry and data processing continues with the release of Remark Office OMR v6.0 from the Principia(R) Products division of Gravic(R), Inc. A leader in plain paper OMR since 1991, Principia software provides a remarkably simple and fast alternative to manual data entry. The optical mark recognition system allows a user to scan virtually any plain paper OMR form, without the need for registration marks or special inks. The data from filled in bubbles or checkboxes is recognized and placed into a spreadsheet where it can be exported into over 35 different formats or analyzed in Remark Quick Stats(R), the software's built-in analysis component. The user has the flexibility to design and change forms according to need using any word processing or design program.

Through a scanner's Twain driver the software can read data from the scanner directly or it can read TIFF, PCX, and PDF image files. "This means the user can scan into the program from just about any scanner, including network multi-function machines," says Steve Joslin, Marketing Coordinator for Principia Products.

Among the many enhancements for this version is the inclusion of respondent ID tracking, providing the ability to produce a respondent detection report to show who did or did not submit a form. There is also a new user interface, enhanced recognition algorithms, the ability to add page identifiers, and many more. The software also works well alongside Remark Web Survey(R) to convert forms to HTML and integrate paper and web-based surveys.

Remark Office OMR includes Remark Quick Stats, an analysis component, which tabulates surveys, grades tests, and generates reports and graphs. A new Survey Wizard is also included, with support for question groups and comparison of demographic groups and a revised Grade Wizard which has support for multiple answer keys and multiple grade scales. Remark Office OMR can even produce a grade report, which can be printed and handed back to the student.
