BOSTON, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Stream Global Services, Inc., (Amex: SGS), a premium business process outsource (BPO) service provider specializing in customer relationship management services for Fortune 1000 companies, today announced that leading Irish broadband provider, eircom, (ASX: ERC) has renewed its euro 13.5 million contract with Stream to provide technical support services for eircom's residential and business broadband customers. Working together with eircom, Stream will continue to deliver an integrated support solution for the company. eircom is the leading Internet service provider and principal provider of telecommunications services in Ireland with over 2.6 million service access channels and over 660,000 broadband customers.
eircom originally turned to Stream in 2005 to provide a comprehensive support solution that capitalised on Stream's vast industry knowledge and extensive experience in customer care. Stream applied its industry expertise within the telecommunications market, and integrated its solution into eircom's existing infrastructure and technology. As a result, Stream was able to help eircom significantly increase its overall customer satisfaction while reducing costs.
"We are delighted with the customer support that Stream provides for us and look forward to building on our success to date to further improve our customer experience," said Gerry Culligan, Director of Consumer Markets, eircom. "Working together with Stream, we have dramatically increased customer satisfaction and at the same time significantly reduced our cost of support, both of which are critical in today's trading environment."
Martin Schoppler, General Manager, Stream Ireland said, "We are delighted to extend our relationship with eircom by another three years and see it as a clear statement that we are using our world wide experience in driving costs down and increasing satisfaction for our client's customers."
According to Stream Chairman and CEO Scott Murray, "This latest client engagement further illustrates our experience within and commitment to the telecommunications industry. We are confident that our highly trained workforce will provide eircom with quantifiable, value-driven solutions that will help them deliver an enhanced brand experience to their end users."
Stream, with support centers located in 22 countries around the world including Santry and Derry, supports eircom from eircom's Eastpoint facility in Dublin, Ireland. In addition to offering customer care and BPO solutions for leading telecommunications companies, Stream also provides solutions for leaders in the technology, retail and entertainment industries, among others. On October 1, 2009, the company announced the completion of a stock-for-stock exchange agreement with eTelecare. By bringing together two proven players in the industry, Stream creates an unparalleled BPO services organization that offers world-class services for its valued clients.
