French Consumer Claims iPhone Screen Shattered

A French businessman has requested that a court employ an unaffiliated specialist to look into the safety of the iPhone, after his claims that the screen of his device shattered unexpectedly and without provocation.
Lawyers for Apple, which manufactures the well-liked smartphone, and Bouygues, which sells the device in France, disagreed with the request, saying that the supposed occurrence is currently being investigated for fraud, lawyer Patrick Luciani noted.
"My client wants a neutral expert to tell him what caused this problem and tell him whether he can continue to use this type of telephone," Luciani said, after submitting a proposition at the commercial court in France.
Some French iPhone users have asserted in the last few months that the touchscreens on their smartphones have shattered; as well as an individual who insists that they were injured by flying glass.
The maker is adamant that there is no proof of a design defect that would cause such an event to occur.
French authorities have begun an examination into the claims, but no proof has been uncovered that the phones are bursting without the influence of an "external force."
The global popularity of the iPhone aided US company Apple post a colossal quarterly net revenue of 1.76 billion dollars in October, regardless of the global financial recession.
