Cook County, Ill., Residents to Benefit From Verizon Wireless Network Enhancements

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Nov. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless has activated three new cell sites in Cook County that expand network coverage, enabling more customers in the area to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls; send and receive email and text, picture and video messages; access the Internet; view high-quality videos; and download music, games and ringtones, while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.
The new cell sites, which are equipped with permanent backup generators for times of emergency, expand Verizon Wireless' voice and data network in Cook County in the following locations.
- Berwyn: from Interstate Highway 290 in the north to 26th Street in the south, and from State Highway 43 in the west to Laramie Avenue in the east;
- Northlake: from Belmont Avenue in the north to Palmer Avenue in the south, and from Van Auken Street in the west to Roy Avenue in the east;
- Lemont: from 115th Street in the north 135th Street in the south, and from Archer Avenue in the west to Will Cook Road in the east.
