Creative Vistas, Inc., (OTCBB: CVAS), a leading provider of integrated electronic security and surveillance systems, announced today that its partner dataBahn, a leading satellite broadband provider, has been chosen to provide streaming video capabilities to a major broadcasting corporation. Creative Vistas has partnered with dataBahn to provide its video surveillance technology capabilities to dataBahn's network of customers.
dataBahn announced today that its demonstration to the major broadcasting corporation to deliver voice, video and data connectivity at live sporting and news events for onsite staff and crew members was very successful and it has been chosen to provide this service. The project combines dataBahn's robust satellite network services with compact 2-way terminals that are quickly deployed on location to support VPN, voice, data and streaming video anywhere from Alaska to Cancun, Mexico. Selection of dataBahn for this project came after careful evaluation and testing of many competitors' products and services in the satellite broadband industry. Ultimately it was determined that dataBahn offers one of the best combinations of performance, reliability and value.
More than 50 locations will be deployed to evaluate reliability and test performance across all of North America to determine the feasibility of adopting dataBahn technology as a standard application for most future news and sporting events coverage. To kick off the project, dataBahn will be participating with the broadcaster in a mission critical agenda called "50 States in 50 Days" in which equipment must be quickly deployed, activated, utilized by the team onsite and then stowed every consecutive day in a different state for nearly two months. If successful, the broadcaster may order a significant number of terminals and adopt dataBahn broadband services as standard equipment for most events they cover.
"This is a great, high-visibility project for dataBahn that offers another opportunity to demonstrate what can really be accomplished with our broadband services," said Ted Lindsley, Founder & CEO of dataBahn. "CVAS' video surveillance technologies complement our offering, particularly within large venues where public safety is a priority."
Creative Vistas has signed a Letter of Intent to acquire dataBahn. "We are very pleased with dataBahn's success as we see significant applications for our Iview brand of products in large public venues where there are threats to public safety. The technologies provided by both companies can provide an end user with great value in terms of providing security and broadband services simultaneously," said Sayan Navaratnam, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Creative Vistas, Inc.
