CINCINNATI, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ — Hobsons EMT, the leading resource to prepare, recruit, manage and advance students through the education lifecycle, hosted two, free users’ conferences for California State University admissions professionals giving them an open forum to discuss some of the important issues facing recruiting and enrollment within the state university system. The forum, attended by 17 of the 23 California state institutions, also illustrated how attendees’ Hobsons’ products are being used at other CSU institutions, and how clients can improve current processes.

“The CSU Users’ Conference was a helpful addition to the already available support Hobsons’ associates always provides. It was an opportunity to have sister CSU campuses share best business practices and learn from one another on how to better utilize EMT in creative ways – especially in times where resources may be limited. Having more localized users’ conferences like this would be a practical and beneficial supplement in terms of training and idea sharing for CSU campuses,” said Ben Perlado, IT Consultant for Enrollment Management, CSU Bakersfield.

The two summits, both held in October, featured Hobsons’ clients Ginger Reyes, Director of Admissions & Recruitment, California State University Channel Islands, and Jim Maraviglia, Asst. Vice President of Admissions, Recruitment and Financial Aid, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo explaining how they have utilized and benefited from EMT Connect, Hobsons EMT’s flagship CRM product.

James Maraviglia has been actively involved in admissions and recruitment for the past 25 years. Since 1991, he has served in the CalPoly admissions department as director and executive director. During his career, he has been responsible for re-engineering the workplace of two very different institutions, has won awards from several professional associations and written numerous papers on enrollment planning, admissions, recruitment and reengineering the workplace through technology.

Ginger Reyes has been in the field of education for 10 years, with the last 8 in admissions and outreach. In her current position, her responsibilities include the development, implementation, and assessment of the campus strategic enrollment management plan. In addition to overseeing the admissions and recruitment process for the university, Ms. Reyes manages the admissions module of the PeopleSoft database management system and all aspects of the Hobsons’ Enrollment Management Technology (EMT) tool.

Representatives from Hobsons were also on hand to discuss some of the important changes to the EMT Connect CRM, as well as the Hobsons EMT product line.

“Hobsons EMT is committed to continuing the important discussion of higher education enrollment in California. Through events like these summits, we hope to bring new awareness and understanding to the issues California state schools are facing, and strategies they can launch to help alleviate these stresses,” said Maggie Frantz, Director of Client Development, Hobsons EMT.

Additional summits currently are being planned in the California area. More information regarding registration and locations will be released as it becomes available. Hobsons is happy to invest in our partnership with clients and provide registration for the conference free of charge.
