Ethertronics Responds to Increased Customer Demand with Sales Expansion; Embedded Antenna Manufacturer Appoints New Sales Directors to Drive Customer Acquisitions

Ethertronics, the leading developer and manufacturer of high performance internal antennas for personal and industrial wireless devices, today announced a sales team expansion in direct response to increased customer interest in its products. The company appointed Alan Kiltie as director sales – Europe, Hernan Medina as director of sales – North America, Chip Waldroup as director of sales – strategic accounts and Dr. Gregory Poilasne as director of applications engineering, to champion the acquisition and support of new wireless OEM customers.
In related news today, Ethertronics also announced the recruitment of Michael Isgrig as its new vice president of marketing and business development to further accelerate the company’s strategy for continuous growth into global wireless markets. “We are gaining strong momentum in the marketplace,” remarked Ethertronics chief executive officer, Bruce Gray. “After a very successful fourth quarter last year and capturing a 2002 UCSD CONNECT Most Innovative Product award, we have seen a substantial increase in customer interest in our patented internal antenna technology, and have developed a world-class team of marketing and sales professionals to meet this demand.”
Alan Kiltie brings over twenty years of expansive OEM and semiconductor sales experience and broad knowledge of European technology markets to Ethertronics. He previously served as the worldwide sales director of I-Control, Inc., a joint venture of Nokia/Ericsson, which develops fingerprint authentication solutions for mobile devices, where he established global channel relationships. Other positions include senior sales and channel marketing management roles at Silicon Wave, Verdicom, Pericom Semiconductor, Cyrix Corporation, Weiteck Corporation, Advanced Silicon Corporation, European Silicon Structures and Hitachi Semiconductor UK.
Hernan Medina has close to twenty years experience with global wireless and telecom companies. He has a strong track record of winning and leveraging strategic relationships with marquee customers such as Cisco Systems and Daewoo Electronics, and establishing strong distribution networks with global wireless carriers. Most recently, he was the vice president of sales for Protura Wireless, Inc., a Silicon Valley-based internal antenna developer, where he was responsible for establishing customer relationships with the world’s top cellular handset developers. Previous positions include senior sales and engineering roles at Innomedia, Diva Communications, SR Telecom, Harris Canada and Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
Chip Waldroup is a seasoned technology sales professional serving the OEM market for the past two decades. He has represented the top names in the computing and semiconductor industries including IBM, Dell, Compaq, Texas Instruments, NEC, C-Cube Microsystems and ACC Micro, and brings extensive customer contacts to Ethertronics. Most recently, he was the North American sales and business development manager for Palmchip Corporation, where he was responsible for establishing strategic alliances with fab-less semiconductor OEMs and large, established chip companies. Other positions include sales and business development management positions at Veridicom Corporation, NeoMagic and TL Marketing, Inc.
Dr. Gregory Poilasne has an extensive background in antenna research and development spanning the past ten years. He brings deep knowledge of Ethertronics’ core antenna technology and is responsible for assisting OEM customers through the entire product development and integration processes. Prior to joining Ethertronics, he was a senior research advisor at the CNRS Research Center in Rennes, France. While pursuing his doctorate degree, he also served in senior research positions at Matsushita Electrical Industrial, Ltd., CELAR Military Electronics Center and Thomson Multimedia.
