December 16, 2009

LITHONIA, Ga., Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ — The Holistic Information Security Practitioner Institute (HISPI), the worldwide visionary in Governance Risk, and Compliance (GRC) thought leadership, today announced that Corporate College®, a division of Cuyahoga Community College based in suburban Cleveland, Ohio has been named as the world’s first HISPI Center of Excellence. In addition to the appointment, the HISPI will work with Corporate College on the development of information security programs that will support the fast growing HISP professional certification.

“The HISPI Center of Excellence rewards schools that embrace the concept of true integrated security processes,” said John DiMaria; President of the HISPI. “This designation is a testimony to Corporate College’s dedication to information security and their willingness to incorporate the HISP philosophy into their curriculum to help their clients harness the capabilities of this unique approach to GRC, particularly information security. As one of the country’s leading schools in this field, I am personally delighted to appoint Corporate College as our first HISPI Center of Excellence.”

Corporate College was one of the first academic and professional development organizations to leverage the HISP methodology and accelerate their research in integrated security and compliance processes. It is expected that the HISPI Center of Excellence will aid Corporate College clients and other centers of continuing education, to further their work and speed the new programs down the path to great success.

“We’re very excited to partner with the HISPI and anticipate that together we will achieve breakthroughs in information security management concepts, leading to more effective programs,” said Charles Mackey; Corporate College’s Executive Director of the Technology Solutions Institute (TSI), where the HISPI Center of Excellence will operate from. “This designation is a great stimulus for our Institute and it will help to radiate the HISP message to colleges and other organizations throughout the country.”

A formal ceremony is expected in January 2010.
