MILWAUKEE, July 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Midwest Airlines will be flying the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club to and from games and support the team through signage and promotions at Miller Park for the next three years. In an announcement made today, the airline and the Club extended their travel and marketing partnership agreements for three additional seasons. Midwest Airlines will continue to provide charter services for the Brewers, as it has since 2002 -- the year it was named the official team airline. Additionally, the airline's marketing partnership with the Club will be extended through 2008.
Players travel in style aboard Midwest Airlines' dedicated charter MD-80 aircraft featuring 74 two-by-two wide leather seats with extra legroom between rows and increased recline capabilities. The jets are outfitted with four sections of club seating and two 21-inch flat screen monitors equipped with DVD and VHS players. Personal DVD players are also available. Food and beverage service is custom designed to meet the team's dining requirements on each fight.
Midwest Airlines also supports the team through signage behind home plate and on the outfield wall at Miller Park, the team's home stadium. Additionally, the airline sponsors two "Best Care" seats at Miller Park. During Brewers home games, two fans are selected at random to sit in the wide leather seats with an outstanding diamond view, enjoy the airline's hallmark chocolate chip cookies and be spotlighted on the stadium scoreboard.
"It is a pleasure to partner with the Milwaukee Brewers under the both the charter and marketing agreements," said Scott R. Dickson, senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "Midwest, for many years, has provided high quality charter service to professional and college athletic teams. As such, the Brewers organization knows we will provide 'The best care in the air' so players arrive at games relaxed, refreshed and ready to play ball. And we have been very pleased with the ability to jointly promote Brewers baseball and Midwest Airlines in a variety of creative ways."
"Midwest Airlines is one of our best and most important corporate partners," said Rick Schlesinger, Brewers executive vice president-business operations. "We are thrilled that by extending these agreements, Midwest Airlines will continue to promote our team at Miller Park, and our players and coaches will continue to enjoy the onboard amenities that have earned Midwest Airlines its reputation for service excellence."
