Yokogawa Digital Computer Offers In-Circuit Emulator

Posted on: Monday, 7 July 2003, 06:00 CDT

SANTA CLARA, Calif. & YOKOHAMA, Japan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 7, 2003--Tensilica,(R) Inc. today announced the immediate availability of the advicePLUS Advanced In-Circuit Emulator from Yokogawa Digital Computer Corporation (YDC) for Tensilica's Xtensa(R) configurable processor cores. advicePLUS is already in use by Tensilica customers, including a major Japanese printer manufacturer. Yokogawa Digital Computer Corporation also joined Tensilica's Xtensions(TM) partner network.

"Our customers have been very impressed with the capabilities of YDC's advicePLUS system," stated Bernie Rosenthal, Tensilica's Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales. "It's fast, proven, and helps accelerate the design process."

The advicePLUS in-circuit emulator is a robust development system scalable from basic JTAG/OCD to a fully featured in-circuit emulator. It features bus speeds to 200 MHz, high-speed emulation memory from 4 to 64 MB, USB/100-BT Ethernet host interface, and a sophisticated C/C++ source debugger. The scalable architecture allows designers to start with a basic JTAG tool and add additional features such as emulation memory, external bus trace and coverage/performance measurement.

Single or multiple processors can be debugged using microVIEW-PLUS, a graphical high-level debug interface that runs under MS-Windows(TM). microVIEW-PLUS is tightly integrated to the emulator control system an unmatched combination of high-level language debug features together with low-level target visibility and control. Trigger and breakpoint event setup, memory mapping, performance analysis and emulator control switches are all just a mouse click away.

Tensilica's Xtensions Network brings together "best in class" products and services from industry leaders to enable SOC designers to accelerate development of their Xtensa-based designs. More information on this program is available at www.tensilica.com/html/partners.html.
