PierPASS:
WHAT: PierPASS will launch the OffPeak program this Saturday, July 23, at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. In a monumental shift for the U.S. transportation industry, all international container terminals in the two ports will begin operating on nights and Saturdays to tackle congestion caused by growing cargo volumes. Join us Saturday morning inside a working container terminal to watch the ports begin shifting cargo movement from peak commuting hours to nights and weekends. Amid mammoth ships and giant cranes, teams of longshoreman will unload containers packed with imported goods, and truckers will drive the containers through the terminal gates on the first day of this groundbreaking program. Transportation industry executives, local political leaders and community stakeholders will be on hand to discuss the OffPeak program, and spokespeople will be available to answer questions. WHEN: Saturday, July 23, 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time WHERE: APM Terminal Pier 400 2500 Navy Way Port of Los Angeles To RSVP or with questions about this event, please call Patrica Condon at 310-248-6147, or e-mail to patricia.condon@ogilvypr.com
