Springs Unit Might Be Spared

Honeywell can't say yet how the 2,000 job cuts targeting its aerospace division will be distributed geographically, including how they might affect its Colorado Springs unit.
Honeywell spokesman Bill Reavis said the company's reorganization isn't yet complete.
The company's Colorado Springs work force, however, may be spared significant cuts because of its relatively small size and unique mission.
Honeywell employs about 500 aerospace employees in the Springs through its Honeywell Technology Solutions Inc. unit.
The work force there maintains and operates the U.S. Air Force's network of communications satellites.
Honeywell employs more than 42,000 aerospace workers worldwide.
