VANCOUVER, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 8, 2003--New Edge Networks and MCI Wholesale Services have signed a national agreement that allows New Edge Networks to offer its customers expanded network reach, further extending customer options for broadband technologies and carriers.
MCI gives New Edge Networks reach into 75 new market locations not already served by other carriers with which the company has separate agreements. MCI has broadband DSL switching equipment in more than 700 locations in large metropolitan areas around the country.
Under the new agreement, New Edge Networks will be able to offer its selling partners and business customers a single point of contact for their broadband DSL and frame over DSL solutions in MCI's large metropolitan markets.
"This agreement is about meeting customer demands for one price/one carrier for all their network needs, regardless of locations," said Dan Moffat, president and CEO of New Edge Networks. "Some business customers don't want tech-speak or care how technology works its magic. They want network reliability. And they want one person to contact if there is ever a problem."
New Edge Networks provides its business customers a choice of up to four different carriers in some cities. These types of agreements also help ensure speed to market, especially when any carrier must build new facilities to fill a new order.
"As the demand for DSL grows, MCI Wholesale Services is providing New Edge a greater coverage area via our nationwide footprint," said Bob Brejcha, MCI Wholesale vice president of Sales Services. "The result of this agreement is an easy, cost-effective and reliable solution for New Edge and their customers."
Moffat added, "The advantage of being a single-source provider for our customers is obvious. This is especially true when network managers are being asked to cut costs and do more for less."
