Work on Main Airport Runway to Alter Traffic Patterns
Posted on: Sunday, 24 July 2005, 09:00 CDT
Work on the main runway at Buffalo Niagara International Airport will result in a temporary shift in takeoff and landing patterns through the end of September. While most air traffic will continue to use the main runway, pilots might need to use the so-called "crosswind" runway in certain weather conditions where visibility is reduced.
Use of the alternative runway will result in increased air traffic over neighborhoods along that flight path during the improvement project.
"We appreciate the patience and understanding of the community during this temporary change," said NFTA Executive Director Larry Meckler.
