Cyclades AlterPath System Deployed at AMD Developer Center

Cyclades Corporation, a leader in next-generation IT infrastructure management, today announced that AMD has deployed Cyclades AlterPath(TM) System to provide secure remote access to the AMD Developer Center. Cyclades Out-of-Band Infrastructure system can enable AMD engineers, partners and customers to remotely access and further optimize servers and other IT hardware assets within the AMD Developer Center.
The AMD Developer Center, located at AMD headquarters in Sunnyvale, California, offers partners and customers hands-on or virtual opportunities to develop, test and optimize their products on AMD Athlon(TM) 64 and AMD Opteron(TM) processor-based servers and computers.
"Cyclades AlterPath System can enable a hands-off approach to network monitoring and it can improve the workflow for partners and customers using the AMD Developer Center to optimize their applications," said Richard Finlayson, director, Segment and Industry Solutions, AMD. "As the demand for AMD64-optimized software continues to increase, it becomes more and more important to make sure that our Developer Center is equipped to handle these specialized needs."
To provide secure, remote IT administrative access, AMD deployed Cyclades AlterPath ACS serial console servers to access Linux and UNIX-based servers and network hardware, and AlterPath KVM/net KVM over IP switches to access Windows-based servers. Both Cyclades console servers and KVM over IP switches were fully integrated with Cyclades AlterPath PM (power management) to allow remote power control. To manage Cyclades products as a single integrated system, AMD deployed the AlterPath Manager, which serves as the command and control center for Cyclades AlterPath System, providing a consolidated view of all the assets managed by Cyclades products. Because the Cyclades AlterPath System is platform independent, AMD engineers can access all of their servers remotely, regardless of the operating system or vendor.
To further enhance the customer testing experience, AMD is providing customers and partners with secure remote access to the AlterPath System. As a result, customers can restore assets without the need to contact AMD engineers, allowing them to efficiently complete tests.
"The AMD Developer Center's deployment of our products demonstrates the power and operational benefits of the Cyclades AlterPath System," said Daniel Dalarossa, Cyclades CEO. "Cyclades can provide the necessary integration and flexibility that allows customers to adapt our AlterPath System to meet their unique IT infrastructure management conditions and needs. This systems approach to remote IT administration allows our customers to save time and money restoring network connections and performing routine maintenance."
