Assist America Identity Protection was launched in April in conjunction with one of the company’s largest life insurance partners, covering more than three million people, and is rolling out to Assist America’s new and existing health insurance clients. This marks the first time any travel assistance provider has included identity protection to a wide audience as a part of its standard offering.
Assist America Identity Protection is ready to help around the clock if a member becomes a victim of identity theft. A single toll-free call will put a professional fraud support team into action, with a dedicated Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)-certified caseworker assigned to the case to ensure continuity of service. This caseworker works step-by-step with the member to minimize credit damage and restore reputation — assisting side-by-side to cancel and reissue credit cards, and to notify and file paperwork with credit bureaus, law enforcement, government and financial institutions.
In addition, members have the option of storing credit card information online via a secure website, which enables Assist America Identity Protection to watch proactively for any appearance of their personal data on black market web portals that specialize in selling and trading identities.
