Absolute Analysis Introduces Its 1394a/b Analyzer Supporting IEEE1394-1995, 1394-2000, and P1394b Protocols

Posted on: Monday, 13 October 2003, 06:00 CDT

NEWBURY PARK, Calif., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Absolute Analysis Inc., a California Corporation, located in Newbury Park, specializing in the development and production of computer bus analysis tools, announced today its introduction of a 1394a/b analyzer through its acquisition of the Yokogawa line of 1394 analyzer product offerings as well as the US-based development team. This line of product supports IEEE1394-1995, 1394-2000, and P1394b protocols, making it the choice for both commercial and military development, test and simulation environments. The 1394a/b now accompanies other bus analyzer products from Absolute Analysis including Fibre Channel, Gigabit Ethernet and Serial FPDP.

Under this agreement, Absolute Analysis will assume immediate worldwide responsibility for future engineering development, manufacturing and customer support from its headquarters in Newbury Park. Sales in North America will continue through Absolute Analysis.

The Absolute Analysis 1394a/b analyzers are available in two configurations: the IP-1200 model, an O/S-independent version, and a PCI plug-in board for those already using a PC, or extended PCI bus, in their user environments.

The self-contained version, the IP1200, is based on a completely new concept in test and measurement applications that combines the desire for out-of-the-box analysis tools, featuring the most sophisticated data capture and analysis capabilities with the flexibility of a data Web server for data presentation and capture control. All data analysis tasks and control commands are processed in a three-tier client-server structure utilizing ultra-thin Java client applets running in any compliant Web browser. No proprietary application installation is required on the client computer, and there are no operating system limitations.

The PCI configuration provides plug-in capability to those who have already made the investment in a PC in their development, test and/or production environments. This results in a lower cost point, by utilizing a desktop PC's Windows-based configuration and can be provided in combination with other Absolute Analyzer's PCI board based analyzer products including Fibre Channel, Gigabit Ethernet and Serial FPDP in a variety of configurations including extended PCI motherboard cabinets, rackmounts and desktops or use of the customer current PC environment.
