airBand Communications Names Jim Timmer Chief Financial Officer

airBand Communications, Inc. , the largest fixed wireless company for business customers in the United States, today announced that Jim Timmer has joined the company as chief financial officer. Timmer is an experienced executive with more than two decades of experience in senior finance and operations leadership roles with a variety of telecommunications providers.
"Jim's track record of driving solid financial and operational results will add significant value to our executive team," said Andrew Lombard, airBand president and CEO. "His guidance will play a critical role as we move to aggressively grow the business and move into additional markets."
Timmer comes to airBand from Birch Telecom, a $300 million competitive local exchange carrier. As CFO of Kansas City, Mo.-based Birch Telecom, Timmer led efforts to negotiate a new capital structure and significantly improve the financial performance. Timmer has also held leadership positions at VarTec Telecommunications, Inc., Excel Communications, Inc., and Verizon.

Timmer attended Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, where he received a bachelor's degree in accounting. In addition, Timmer received an M.B.A. from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
