TeleData Technology Announces Improved Speech Recognition Capabilities in Its T3 Platform

Posted on: Tuesday, 26 July 2005, 12:00 CDT

TeleData Technology's speech recognition capabilities continue to expand with the release of enhancements to its ASR (automatic speech recognition) technology. TeleData Technology incorporates Natural Speech Communication's (NSC) ASR technology into their T3 Platform to develop a range of messaging solutions, enabling highly reliable speech recognition from telephones, cell phones and speaker phones. These recent enhancements bring further flexibility to organizations who implement speech recognition in their telephony applications:

-- Flexible recognition parameters: More flexible recognition parameters allow the T3 Platform to customize the sensitivity of the speech recognition experience. Parameters can be set to accommodate the call environment (for example, whether calls tend to come in on cell phones or car phones), the duration of time the system will 'listen' to the caller, and whether or not the customer wants the system to recognize first name, last name, or both.

-- Echo cancellation: Improved echo cancellation helps reduce false "barge-in" due to background noise and non-relevant utterances.

-- Languages: The T3 Platform supports speech recognition in North American English, UK English, Russian, German, Hebrew and Arabic. In addition, NSC language resources contain a database of more than 60 languages which enable fast adoption of new languages to the T3 platform

Speech recognition can be implemented in a variety of telephony applications that decrease operational costs and increase customer satisfaction. Using intuitive voice commands, callers gain immediate access to the information they need by easily interacting with automated attendants to access global directories; using voice commands to access messages, eliminating the need for touch tone operation of voice mail; and using service centers efficiently and effectively through voice-activated IVR systems.

According to Yaniv Livneh, CEO of TeleData Technology "the cooperation between TeleData Technology and NSC continues to create new and cutting-edge telephony products. NSC provides a platform that is extremely suitable for building advanced telephony applications and we fully leverage this platform to offer flexible and cost-effective speech recognition capabilities to our customers."

"The connection between NSC and TeleData brings substantial value to the market by combining two industry leading technologies into a unique and cost-effective offering which will enable penetration of speech driven services to new market segments" says Dr. Ami Moyal, CEO of NSC.

In the coming months TeleData will release a full-featured, speech-based voice messaging system based on NSC's technology.

About TeleData Technology

Since 1991 Teledata Technology has been designing innovative telephony solutions to enable organizations to communicate effectively. A unique, Linux-based platform supports a variety of location sizes, regional requirements and technology infrastructures in both legacy telephony and VoIP/SIP environments. Uniquely set apart from other typical multi-modal messaging solutions, the T3 is a platform-independent application that shares resources and ports across all application components. Voice, fax, interactive voice response (IVR) and announcer capabilities use any available port, mitigating costs and administration complexities. The T3 platform also utilizes tenanting and networking to integrate across multiple PBXs, email servers, database applications, and voice channels (T1, analog, VoIP).

About NSC

NSC specializes in speech recognition technology for the telephony market. NSC's product is an ASR engine running on PCI blades that are designed around dedicated processors (DSP). This unique approach by NSC allows very high density at low cost with simple system architecture. NSC's PCI blades-based product performs speech recognition without any need for CPU resources, while maintaining minimal footprints, side-by-side, with maximum control for the users in optimizing system resources for their needs. NSC offers a speech recognition engine for speech-driven telephony services as well as a key-word spotting engine for speech analytics.
