Andrew Corporation Unveils New North American Distribution Service Center Network

ORLAND PARK, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 29, 2003--Following its successful merger with Allen Telecom, Andrew Corporation (NASDAQ:ANDW) has unveiled a united and streamlined network of Distribution Service Centers across North America. The newly integrated North American network consists of close-to-the-customer facilities in Hayward and Los Angeles, California; Atlanta, Georgia; Bedford, New Hampshire; Orland Park, Illinois; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; and Dallas, Texas.
Andrew Distribution Service Centers (DSCs) offer peak levels of service and support that is highly personalized and speeds the rapid deployment of wireless sites. "Our service specialists deal directly with customers and tower crews to deliver the correct materials needed for wireless sites, on time, every time, in a fast and efficient manner," said Stan Catey, vice president Cable Products and Distribution, Andrew Corporation. "We can also customize 'Rapid Site Deployment' kits making the roll out of new and overlay sites easier and more cost-effective."
Andrew DSCs have centralized ordering and tracking systems. The customer's selection of infrastructure materials arrives on site, on time, without mistakes. For wireless carrier and construction management customers, this means faster site deployment, quicker site upgrades, and less reworks. "Service from our Distribution Service Center network will help reduce the risk of installation delay penalties that can erode installation profits," added Stan Catey.
A full line of Andrew coaxial cables 'custom-cut to customer requirements,' with connector attachment and jumper assembly services, is available from Andrew DSCs.
Value-added services include: logistics support, dedicated inventory, storage of customer-supplied material, and rapid site deployment. Other services, such as OnePack(SM) Site Kits, provide the components for installation of wireless RF transmission line systems in easy-to-order, easy-to-manage packages; SREEL6 Rapid Site Deployment services save customer time and labor by enabling quick coaxial cable installation, straight from the cable reel to the tower.
