LexisNexis Integrates News Content into Yahoo! Search Subscriptions; New Channel of Users Gain Access to High-Value Information

LexisNexis U.S., a leading provider of news, business, and legal information services, today announced that a subset of LexisNexis(R) news content is now accessible through Yahoo! Search Subscriptions (http://search.yahoo.com/subscriptions). This new development follows on the heels of Yahoo's June 16 release announcing LexisNexis as a participant in this beta program, which would allow users to search highly-valued, fee-based content along with Web content from a single search box.
When Yahoo users select LexisNexis as a source in their search, they can view headlines powered by the LexisNexis AlaCarte!(TM) service, a pay-as-you-go online information solution for small- to medium-sized businesses and independent professionals. Users then have the option to access full-text articles by secure credit card transactions through the LexisNexis AlaCarte! service.
"This alliance with Yahoo provides searchers the access they need to answer important business questions," said Elizabeth Rector, senior vice president of Corporate and Federal Markets for LexisNexis. "LexisNexis is known for having the most comprehensive news and business sources on the market, more than 20,000 premium sources, along with deep archives and powerful search capabilities. We are excited that Yahoo! Search Subscriptions helps make this content available to Yahoo!'s 379 million users."
"When we began this project, our goal was to help our users find high-quality content from marquee content sources that were previously inaccessible through major search engines," said David Mandelbrot, vice president of search content at Yahoo! "With the addition of LexisNexis content, we are delivering on this goal while also making our users aware of the availability of the business-critical information they need."
