  • French and Italians miss home cooking the most: In the European community, Italian and French expats miss the cuisine from their native land the most, with 88% of Italians responding that the food back in Italy is better than in the US, and 84% of French expats saying the same about their native land.
  • Safety first: There is nothing more important than feeling safe in your own home, and 75% of expats agree. This percentage of people feel that their neighborhoods in their new migrant lands are safer than their original hometowns in the foreign countries where they were born.
  • UK sports fans most passionate: Only a small percentage of countries miss cheering for their original hometown teams, but the United Kingdom expats were by far the exception, with more than 90% percent saying they missed rooting for their sports teams more than anything else about their native countries. In fact, UK expats call home during soccer and rugby games more than any other community of expats, with 31% calling home during sports games each week.
