Hit-and-Run Suspect Turns Self In
The North Dakota Highway Patrol have a suspect in a hit-and-run Sunday that injured a Hamilton man.
Ramiro Santillan Jr., 33, was standing beside his vehicle on the south side of N.D. Highway 5 four miles east of Cavalier. A vehicle traveling west on Highway 5 swerved into the eastbound land and struck Santillan. The driver then left the scene.
A Cavalier man was driving the vehicle, a 1990 Jeep Wrangler that sustained damage to the front fender and windshield. The Cavalier man and his passenger, of Park River, were not injured.
The driver turned himself in Thursday to the patrol after consulting his lawyer.
Charges are pending and the hit-and-run remains under investigation by the highway patrol.
Patrol Sgt. Dolf Oldenburg said Santillan’s injuries are not life- threatening.
