Scrum.org Announces Partnership with Construx Software
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ — Scrum.org, the home of the Scrum framework, today officially announced a new partnership with Construx Software, a widely-respected training and consulting company. Starting this month, each student attending a Construx Scrum course will be given the opportunity to take the Professional Scrum Master I assessment and potentially gain certification as a Professional Scrum Master (PSM) I. According to Alex Armstrong, the Director of Programs for Scrum.org, this partnership “demonstrates not only the level of confidence Construx has in its training but also the strength of the Scrum.org PSM certification.”
The PSM I certification was established by Ken Schwaber, co-creator of Scrum, in response to the “flaccid Scrum” phenomenon.(i) Unlike other Scrum certifications, PSM I requires a minimum score on an assessment of Scrum knowledge. In the month of October, only 65% of those attempting the PSM I assessment passed the test and attained certification. Because PSM I distinguishes between those who know Scrum and those who don’t, it has been rapidly gaining esteem and adoption in the industry.
Construx founder and Chief Software Engineer, Steve McConnell, noted, “I am really pleased to be partnering with Scrum.org. Construx has been an industry leader in providing pragmatic, hands-on training for software professionals for more than 10 years. Combining skills learned during Construx training with Scrum.org’s industry-standard assessments makes a winning combination critical in today’s job market: great training, rigorous assessments, and widely-recognized certifications.”
“Real assessment of knowledge has become a must for Scrum training,” commented Ken Schwaber. “Now that all Construx’s Scrum seminars include access to the industry-standard PSM I assessment, students can evaluate their knowledge to see how it stacks up. I couldn’t be happier to be partnering with Construx training.”
Construx Software provides software development best practice seminars and consulting to leading companies around the globe. Construx was founded by Steve McConnell, a software industry stalwart and author of Code Complete and other influential books on software development best practices.
Scrum.org provides courses, assessments, and certifications that give participants the knowledge they need to use Scrum effectively and the credentials they need to communicate this ability in the marketplace. The Professional Scrum Master (PSM) and Professional Scrum Developer (PSD) certifications are the gold standard in the industry. Scrum.org was founded by Ken Schwaber and is based in Burlington, MA.
