Apple’s White iPhone 4 Delayed Again Until Spring 2011
Apple announced Tuesday that it is delaying its white iPhone 4 until the spring of 2011.
Trudy Muller, an Apple spokeswoman, said the company is sorry to disappoint customers with another delay.
She did not give any reasons for the delay, but Apple said in July that the white models are "more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected."
Apple's black iPhone 4 launched in June this year, and it said at that time it expected the white to become available later this year.
Bloggers have reported rumors about the white iPhone for months, with explanations ranging from color-matching problems to an issue with the device's backlight.
Regardless, Apple is not having trouble selling the black-version of its iPhone 4.
iPhone unit sales rose 91 percent to 14.1 million in Apple's most recent quarter.
The device is now available in 89 countries.
