SAN JOSE, Calif. and YEHUD, Israel, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AudioCodes Ltd. , a leading provider of Voice over Packet (VoP) technologies and voice network products, announced today the availability of its TrunkPack(TP)(R)-6300 VoP Module (TPM-6300). This high-density, double-sized PMC "media gateway on a module" offers developers of Voice over ATM and Voice over IP applications a highly-integrated media gateway building block.
VoIPerfect Architecture Provides Key Building Blocks For OEMs
The TPM-6300 is the latest product in AudioCodes' TrunkPack(R) Module (TPM) family. This product is based on VoIPerfect(TM) architecture, AudioCodes' underlying, best-of-breed core technology. Supporting from 512 up to 2016 low-bit-rate (G.723 and G.729A) or up to 4032 uncompressed (G.711 PCM) ports, the TPM-6300 provides an ideal building block for OEMs building carrier grade communication equipment using a proprietary form factor. In conjunction with AudioCodes' feature-rich software encompassing voice, fax, conferencing and optional packet cable security (AES), the TPM-6300 can also serve as a mediator between IP and ATM backbones.
"This is a further step in our broad offering of modules to enable carrier grade OEMs to significantly reduce their time-to-market and reduce development risks while still utilizing their proprietary designs," said Shaul Weissman, Director of Product Marketing for Voice over Packet Processors (VoPP) and Modules at AudioCodes. "Integrating the TPM-6300 allows customers the benefits of AudioCodes' vast experience and maturity in voice over packet applications for wireline, wireless and cable markets. We offer a complete production kit for customers who purchase large quantities of the TPM-6300. Our business model allows customers to significantly reduce their costs by manufacturing the TPM-6300 themselves using AudioCodes' DSPs."
The TPM-6300 offers a superior solution for integrators of AdvancedTCA (ATCA) form factor boards who can utilize this module to meet the PICMG emerging standard in nextgen communication infrastructure equipment. Featuring high port density, low power consumption per port, superior voice quality and rich feature set from various applications, the TPM-6300 is an excellent choice for applications such as: trunking gateways, access gateways, wireless gateways, cable gateways and broadband DLCs. Controlled over Ethernet by AudioCodes' proprietary TPNCP or standard MGCP (RFC 2705) or MEGACO (H.248), this product offers a new generation of complete media gateway engine solutions to OEMs seeking a short development cycle and fast time-to-market.
AudioCodes' TPM-6300 is the most recent addition to the company's media gateway product offerings for packet networks ranging from DSPs, modules, and boards to complete systems. The product is available now as a beta version with general release expected in the first quarter of 2004.
