SHOP.COM Announces ‘My Funniest Gift’ Contest

MONTEREY, Calif., Nov. 11, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — Just in time for the season of holiday parties and white elephant gifts, SHOP.COM asks shoppers to dig up photos of the funniest, oddest, craziest or simply most lackluster gift they’ve ever received.

The award-winning shopping comparison site would like shoppers to post their holiday photos on SHOP.COM’s Facebook page wall (http://www.facebook.com/Shop.com) as an entry into SHOP.COM’s My Funniest Gift Contest. Shoppers can submit as many photos as they want for multiple entries into the contest.

Shoppers are encouraged to submit funny Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa or any other winter gift photos from the past or present. The top finalists will be chosen by SHOP.COM’s editorial team and the final winner will be voted on by SHOP.COM’s Facebook Fans. The prize is $250.

The concept for the contest is inspired by the shopping web site’s previous Halloween photo contest, which proved to be popular among SHOP.COM’s Facebook fans. Shoppers were asked to submit photos of their most creative Halloween costume for entry into the contest and the winner, a woman dressed as a spiral notebook, was selected on November 8.

Photos will be accepted on SHOP.COM’s Fan page until December 17, and the final winner will be announced on or around December 24, 2010.
