Aug. 3–TOKYO — Sega Sammy Holdings Inc. said Wednesday it posted a group net profit of 10.70 billion yen on sales of 100.53 billion yen in three months through June, underlining robust “pachinko” slot machine sales.

Consolidated pretax profit came to 17.09 billion yen.

Comparisons with results in the previous year’s first quarter are unavailable as the company was established last October as a holding firm for Sega Corp., a top amusement arcade equipment manufacturer, and Sammy Corp., a leading pachinko machines maker.

Group operating profit came to 17.59 billion yen, with per-share net profit at 85.63 yen.

For the full year to March 31, Sega Sammy left unchanged its group earnings projections, forecasting a net profit of 56 billion yen and a pretax profit of 100 billion yen on sales of 567 billion yen.
