Cedar Rapids, IA (PRWEB) November 30, 2010

Password Genie, password management online software, recently released its latest upgrade to support both Chromeâ“¢ and Safariâ“¢ for Windows® and are preparing for a December v1.2 release, which includes the addition of a browser button allowing for easier access to all the key features of the software without having to navigate away from the browser.

One of the more important upgrades is the ability to manage multi-page logins. “Most banks, credit card and financial sites today incorporate 2 to 3 layers of protection for added security,” said Robert O’Dell, President and CEO of SecurityCoverage, the developer of Password Genie. “Password Genie will now support these secure sites and remember these different page passwords, and even remember them when a user is prompted to create new passwords.”

“We queried our customers and asked for additional product feedback,” said Jennifer Rudolf, SecurityCoverage Product Manager. “In addition to our customers wanting us to add the new browsers, we also improved the browser extensions for faster load and performance as well as increased our URL login recognition.” Another feature added to this new release is the ability to import saved passwords from Internet Explorer or Firefox.

According to W3Counter, independent analysts of browser use around the world, 43.3% of today’s users are on Internet Explorer, 30.4% on Firefox, 11.4% using Chrome and 5.5% using Safari.

The added features and browsers broaden the reach of the product so it can encompass the most widely used Windows-based browsers.

A recent survey conducted by SecurityCoverage found that online consumers typically have between 10 to 30 unique website logins. Most still rely on pen and paper or memory to recall them, creating a major inconvenience and security risk.

“With the continued rise of identity theft and online fraud, it’s more important than ever to properly manage your online identities. One of the first ways to do this is by using a password manager like Password Genie,” said O’Dell.

The company has plans to release a MacOSX version of the software in first quarter 2011 and includes support to both the iPhone and iPad, as well as other mobile devices such as Android.
