Dove House Hospice, a charity that cares for people with life limiting illness in Hull and the East Riding, has launched a new online charity shop in time for Christmas, which will be selling a wide range of new goods for all the family.

The online shop will include all of Dove House’s 2010 Christmas cards and calendars, as well as a wide range of household items and gifts. The range of goods available will be further expanded to include donated clothing for men, women and children.

Purchases can be made 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, with every penny of the profit going towards the support of the Hospice. The online shop will guarantee safe and secure shopping and all items will be dispatched from one central point, in one parcel.

Dove House Hospice’s Retail Development Manager, Marisa Coleman said:

“The support of the local community is absolutely vital to the Hospice. Dove House receives funding to open for 91 days of the year and the rest has to be raised through public support. Online shopping has become extremely popular over the past few years and we feel it is important to give our supporters that option.

Our supporters can shop from the comfort of their own home and at a time that suits them, as well as being able to visit any of our 31 shops in the local area. Raising money in this way could bring in significant funds for the Hospice at a time when we really need it.”

Dove House Hospice is a palliative care facility based in Hull; it has been at the current Chamberlain Road location since 1989. It offers a range of care facilities that are designed to improve quality of life, from day care and in-patient care, through to symptom control for adults and terminal care. They also offer a wide range of complimentary therapies. The hospice is a registered charity and is therefore largely responsible for its own funding.

To access the online shop, supporters simply need to click on the link from the main page of the Dove House website ““ Dove House Website.
