Tempe, AZ (PRWEB) December 9, 2010

Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuityâ“¢, today announced its first design solution for Neusoft’s personal health care system””the Healthcare Integrated Portable device (HIP), a portable medical data-collection terminal used by healthcare providers to supply medical services to patients in remote locations. Emerson Network Power’s Embedded Computing design services team used the Intel® Atomâ“¢ processor as the cornerstone for the healthcare terminal and added components to enable remote collection and transmission of medical data.

Additional components include a camera, microphone and stereo speakers, memory and storage, 3G and WiFi wireless modules, power supplies, and a color touch-screen display. Emerson Network Power’s Embedded Computing design services team then rapidly integrated the embedded components into a functional case needed for Neusoft’s HIP remote healthcare application. Using Embedded Computing design services enabled Neusoft to focus on the parts of the HIP device that were truly important to the final application and in the process save three to twelve months of design time.

The Neusoft HIP device is designed to collect a number of medical measurements including blood pressure, blood oxygen, pulse rate, ECG, breathing, body temperature and more. Its color touch screen makes for easy operation in the home and other remote locations with 3G and WiFi access to upload the data to the hospital’s network and data storage.

Dr. Liu Jiren, chairman and CEO of Neusoft Corporation, said: “Emerson Network Power is an important partner in enabling the success of Neusoft’s Xikang Healthcare Solution. Leveraging Emerson Network Power’s experience and capabilities in China, we have been able to greatly speed up the availability of the Xikang terminal to the market while ensuring uncompromised quality and reliability. We are looking forward to working with Emerson Network Power to expand the Xikang service outside China.”
