TruStats Software has been selected by the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSSA) to track statistics and rankings during the 2011 Colorado State High School Basketball Tournament March 9-12, 2011. Games will be played at the Colorado State Fair Grounds Events Center, the Denver Coliseum, Colorado State University’s Moby Gym, and the University of Colorado Coors Events Center.
Colorado high school basketball teams are required to post their scores and statistics with VarVee, a sports statistics online aggregator after each contest, from which the CHSAA basketball seeding committees will seed and pair teams for the playoffs. According to CHSSA Assistant Commissioner Bert Borgmann, CHSSA chose TruStats for Basketball because of its function to upload game information to VarVee without re-keying the information.
“TruStats for basketball has a great deal of versatility for measuring both team and individual performance,” says Borgmann.
“Our goal is simply to improve basketball,” says TruStats Business and Marketing Director Todd Lansing. “We wanted to create a program that navigated like the game is played. We believe a basketball coach shouldn’t have to be a computer scientist to manage stats data in a computer and upload it to MaxPreps, VarVee or the local newspaper.”
Both Lansing and TruStats program developer Michael Sullivan have coached and played basketball, and are avid fans. “The software was designed by coaches for coaches,” Sullivan says.
