Google Considering Buy-Out Of Other Online Coupon Companies

The New York Post reported on Tuesday that Google is talking with smaller players in the online discount coupon market after Groupon turned down the Internet giant's $6 billion buyout offer.

The Post said that Groupon's smaller rivals LivingSocial and BuyWithMe may now be on Google's radar after the Groupon deal fell through.

BuyWithMe interim President David Wolfe told the Post that he believes Google needs to enter the coupon advertising market.

Groupon was launched about two years ago and it sends its members daily emails with about 200 deals for goods and services for their specific area.

Google was not immediately available for comment on the situation.
