Juggle.com Acquires Debate.org – The Premier Website for Online Debates
Riveting debates, spirited discussions, and an active community are all elements of Debate.org that convinced Juggle.com to seize the opportunity to acquire the website at the turn of the year.
Belleville, IL (PRWEB) January 5, 2011
Online reference resource Juggle.com has announced that it has acquired leading online debate website, Debate.org. This acquisition will strengthen Juggle’s portfolio of content rich websites by adding a site that features a debate platform, active forums, and a growing community of members. It will also supply Debate.org with owners who have deep resources to help grow the feature set and user base at a more rapid pace.
Juggle’s CEO Stephanie Leffler is excited about the acquisition and its alignment with the Juggle’s mission. She states, “Our mission of providing top notch content began with the launch of Juggle.com, an online encyclopedia and reference resource, and is furthered by our acquisition of Debate.org.”
Creating an environment where a community stays engaged and interested is no small feat. Debate.org offers an environment that fosters a growing community of members who consistently provide interesting and topically relevant content. “We have long admired the site and its unique community. The debates are articulate, thorough and second to none on the internet,” comments Leffler. These aspects of the site are appealing to Leffler who sees this as an opportunity to continue to expand their content model into debates, something they began with the debates section on Juggle.com.
According to Leffler, “the community has already responded to the news of the acquisition of Debate.org or DDO and shown a tempered excitement about the prospect of new owners. Most are eager to see improvements made on the site but also hesitant that new owners will change the environment in which they have grown accustomed to.” From Leffler’s perspective these sentiments are “common at the outset of any acquisition”. To alleviate any concerns, she is leveraging many members of the Juggle team to engage the community in a completely transparent conversation about the future plans of the site.
The transition of Debate.org has been completed and before Christmas her team already released an update that contained small feature improvements and addressed some known issues. Since taking control of the website, Juggle is focusing their efforts in three areas: listening to community feedback to ensure feature development makes it more convenient to participate, enhancing usability and design to accentuate the site’s best assets and improve the overall user experience expand content and debate formats allowing users to discuss more issues with new ways of engaging debates.
With progress already underway Leffler states, “we look forward to improving what is already the best debates community on the internet.”
