Canadian Pharmacy Cites Online Drugs Scam for Guarding Online Pharmacies Patient Data

January 20, 2011

Canadian pharmacy lawyer insists that Americans can buy drugs online safely.

(Vocus/PRWEB) January 18, 2011

NorthWestPharmacy.com, one of the largest Canadian pharmacies and international drugs websites, cites the latest online pharmacies scam when reiterating to patients the importance of dealing with reputable sellers of drugs online. Recent news reports reveal a scam in which fraudsters based in the Dominican Republic used customer information gleaned from orders placed with online drugs websites to extort money from the customers. Posing as FDA agents, the con artists are said to have demanded that customers pay a fine to an offshore bank account.

“One really has to question the sort of websites the customers provided their personal information to, especially when there are a number of safe online pharmacies out there,” says Ankur Arora, who is United States legal counsel to NorthWestPharmacy.com. Indeed, he previously urged consumers to carefully evaluate the credentials of online pharmacies to avoid compromising their personal information or being scammed. (His previous comments can be viewed at http://www.prweb.com/releases/Canadianpharmacy/Canadapharmacy/prweb4724504.htm.)

“This is one of those times I truly hate to say “ËœI told you so’,” he concludes.

Attorney Arora offers the following recommendations when evaluating a Canadian pharmacy or other international online drugs company:

  •     Insist on Canadian International Pharmacy Association certification
  •     Only purchase from sites showing the TRUSTe certified privacy seal
  •     All purchases should be backed through the buySAFE 3-in-1 guarantee program
  •     Only buy from Canadian online pharmacies which have several thousand independently collected and genuine customer reviews

NorthWestPharmacy.com meets all these criteria and serves hundreds of thousands of satisfied American patients. More than 6500 of them have posted their reviews and ratings of NorthWestPharmacy.com’s service. All these reviews are publicly available on the website’s Canadian pharmacy reviews page. Each review is prepared by an actual customer only after they have made a purchase from the Canadian pharmacy retailer and every customer making a purchase is given the opportunity to review NorthWestPharmacy.com through one of the leading third party ratings companies, Shopper Approved. Shopper Approved independently collects and publicly displays all the reviews and NorthWestPharmacy.com is not able to alter or remove them. NorthWestPharmacy.com is proud to be the only 5 star rated Shopper Approved Canadian international pharmacy serving American patients.
